Celebrating 19 years of Supporting Higher Education!

We’re looking forward to you joining us as we honor our 2024 Blackburn Scholar and celebrate 19 years of supporting higher education for Marion County students!

For its 19th year, the Walter & Alpha Blackburn Scholarship Fund presents the Men of Substance and Style Fashion Extravaganza in tribute to Walter Blackburn and all the men and women who proudly exemplify his ideals. This year’s Annual Fashion Extravaganza will feature gifted Fashion Color Commentator, Eric Vaughn, and designs by Alpha Blackburn, Premier Couturier; Mamadou “Ben” Diallo, Alphonso Wright, and Elan Furs.

THE MAIN EVENT – Our Master of Ceremony is David Rose, co-Founder of the Walter Blackburn Scholarship Fund. The 2024 Blackburn Scholar and Book Award Honorees will be introduced during the program.

THE SHOW – Doors open at 4 p.m. for cocktails, networking, shopping and LIVE! entertainment by The Carl Hines Trio. Dinner for ticketed patrons begins at 5 PM. VIP dinner tickets are $150 each, $1,000 for a table of 4 and $1,500 for a table of 8.

Scholarship Presentation

The Walter & Alpha Blackburn Scholarship Fund supports local youth, deserving students will be presented with scholarships to help them reach their goals through collage or other secondary learning experience.
Dinner & Live Entertainment

Protege Awards

The 2024 Walter Blackburn Protégé Awardees are Dr. Winterbourne and Dr. Jillian Harrison-Jones. The Walter Blackburn Protégé Award is presented to individuals who have had a distinguished career in dedication to family, community and professional excellence. Protégé Sponsorships are available for $2,000 and include a table of 8 and special recognition throughout the evening.
Shop Smart

A select array of vendors, including hand crafted fashion jewelry and other specialty fashion items, will be available for purchase as the perfect complement to collections from Mamadou “Ben” Diallo and Alphonso Wright, Elan Furs, and the 2024 Collection by Indianapolis’ Premiere designer, Alpha Blackburn.
